Hoover City School cafeterias are "Offer vs Serve." This allows our students to refuse the main entrée and request additional vegetables and/or fruits. A complete lunch includes one entrée, choice of two different vegetables and /or fruits, bread, and choice of milk. Daily milk choices include 1% white, chocolate, skim, and seasonal flavor varieties dependent on our vendor (strawberry, vanilla, orange).
Breakfast: Students must select 3 or 4 of 4 offered meal components for a $1.25 breakfast.
Lunch: Students must elect 3, 4, or 5 of the 5 offered meal components for a $1.80/$2.00 lunch. The 5 selections include: meat, bread, 2 vegetables/fruit choices, and milk choices.
Students may purchase meals and extra foods sold through the School Nutrition Program with funds debited from their meal account. Parents wishing to limit the use of student accounts to meals only must send a written note to the school’s cafeteria manager stating that the child will not be allowed to purchase extra items off of his/her meal account. Then if they select extra items on the line, they will be required to pay cash at the point of sale. |
