Guitar Information
As a result of a Hoover Foundation City Schools Grant received in 2007-2008, students in the fifth grade begin guitar instruction shortly before or after the winter holidays. We use Essential Elements for Guitar as a basis for our study, while understanding that we can play harmony, or chords, as well as melody on the guitar. Group instruction begins our guitar unit. Then, individual and small group instruction allows for self-guided study. Greystone utilizes 25 J. Reynolds 34" nylon stringed guitars, as well as 3 Alvarez RF8 full size steel stringed guitars.
