The Shelby County Humane Society needs volunteers to assist with their programs. They are a non-profit
organization and receive no federal or state funding. Less than 18% of the annual budget comes from county funds. The funds they desperately need come from fund raising events. Volunteers are needed in the following areas: PETsMART in Hoover on Lorna Road and in Inverness on 280 and Valleydale Road. Help is needed on weekends in the adoption center. Adults and teens care for the animals and keep the cages clean. At the main shelter location in Columbiana: Volunteers are needed to play with and walk the dogs and bathe and groom the animals. Experienced office help is also needed.
· Applications for volunteers are available in the Guidance Office. For more information, please contact www.shelbyhumane.org |

HOSPICE COMPLETE in Hoover is looking for groups or clubs to make holiday cards, cupcakes, birthday/holiday cakes or write letters for their clients. They will supply the necessary items if your club or group will volunteer to make the items. These activities will be used to cheer up the families and the patients in their care. They also need students to help with office work. If you are interested in either of these activities, please contact Allison Leak at 620-5244 or email her at Allisonleak.vchc@yahoo.com |
