Athletics play a vital role in the lives of children.  Here at Hoover High School Freshman Campus we are here to help your child stay healthy and on the field in whatever sport they are involved in.  There is an athletic trainer on campus everyday and at every game to ensure the safety of our student athletes.

The job of a Certified Athletic Trainer is to evaluate, treat and rehabilitate injuries sustained during sports participation whether it be during weight training class, practice or a game.  All of our student athletes have access to state of the art doctors and treatment for any problem they may have.

Dr. Michael Ellerbusch is our team physician.  He is located at Southlake Orthopaedics off of Valleydale Road.  He is available to see our athletes whenever there may have a sports related injury.  To schedule an appointment with him please contact Coach Shepherd at lshepherd@hoover.k12.al.us or 205/439.1632 for faster appointment scheduling.

Dr. Jeff Dugas and Dr. Lyle Cain are our orthopedic surgeons. They are members of Alabama Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center.   Their offices are located at St. Vincent's Hospital in downtown Birmingham.  If you feel your child needs to see one of these doctors please contact Coach Shepherd at lshepherd@hoover.k12.al.us or 205/439.1632 for faster appointment scheduling.
